Back Pumps Taurine Alternative

I've been on my second cycle for almost three weeks now (test/proviron), and for the last week and a half, I've had pretty bad lower back pain. The first few days were damn near debilitating. I've been told that it's most likely back pumps, so I started reading the forums, and I've seen Taurine recommended a lot. I only know of one guy where I can get Taurine, but I have to order it, and this dude hasn't responded to my calls.

After seeing all the recommendations for Taurine, I looked into it a little, and I read that it has effects similar to Creatine. So, my question is, until I am able to get my hands on some Taurine, could I use Creatine as a temporary substitution and get relief from the back pumps?

Taurine is a naturally occuring amino acid found in the human body and acts nothing like creatine. As mentioned it is an over the counter supplement and can be found anywhere from your local grocery store's pharmacy area to amazon.com and even RUI has it (board sponsor). I'd take 4-6mg ED of taurine with a good magnesium and potassium supplement. You can also pick up a bottle or two of pedialyte (found in the children's section) to help restore your electrolyte balance, it tastes like sugared ass, but works pretty damn well.

As dennis mentioned, are you using proviron as an AI? It doesn't prevent estrogen from being made, so I hope you have a real Aromatase inhibitor (AI) on hand as well.

My .02c :)

I couldn't tell if i hurt my back (have 3 herniated discs) or if it was this whole pump thing. Only 4 weeks in on 1st cycle of Test E 600mg weekly, pumps were in my lower back for a week and a half even with 3,000mg taurine twice a day, now there gone. Not sure if from the taurine or just goes away. 1st cycle so i'm not the best source but my experience thus far

Back pumps, in my experience are like this: You feel the muscles in your back being rock hard (lower back) and almost to the point of being cramped. You can stretch and press your back up against the corners of walls, have someone walk on your back, even beat the hell out of it with a massager, but the tension does not go away. It's kind of like when you flex your forearm and notice how hard it is after a few pumps of the fist, imagine that hardness not going away and becoming achy as hell. Ibuprofen doesn't seem to help although a hot shower can alleviate it temporarily.

I was really skeptical about taurine as I didn't think an OTC could help something like that, but when I started running 6mg ED (3mg in the morning/3mg at the evening) they slowly started to subside and eventually went away. I've read a few different reasons why it works, some say it's by "thinning the blood out" in the muscles, others state that it's because of a deficiency caused by certain compounds. Either way, it works for me - hence why I always recommend it with clen or anavar/dbol.

Going get some taurine today, Its to the point to where I can't make it past 5 sets of squats without making weird faces and turning and trying to stretch it out which your right does not work. SHIT SUCKS

magnesium and potassium prevents muscle cramps. Google it. Dont even bother using taurine. Try what I said and google it. You will see that im right. I am on anavar and i cramped up so fucking bad that I stopped it for 6 weeks. I went back on it armed with magnesium and lots of bananas. Potassium pills only come in 50mg tablets and they recommend one a day. 1 banana has 400mg so just eat bananas or something else thats high in potassium. My cramps are almost non existent. I will continue monitoring myself since I still have 5 more weeks of anavar.

That's a bold statement to make. There is a big difference between pumps and cramps friend. I and many others have benefited from taurine supplementation, so while I agree that restoring electrolyte imbalance is important, you can't discard the results others have seen so easily. ;)

Taurine works great for cramps @ 3 to 5 grams, but it's not a muscle relaxer by any means so I wouldn't count it helping with any muscle-related discomfort. Magnesium works great and can even help with those who suffer spasms.

Ummm taurine is legal I do believe. Look arty board sponsors fir supplements.

The only thing is, I live in a different country, and for some reason, Taurine just isn't widely available. I've checked multiple pharmacies and supermarkets, and haven't been able to find it. I'm going to check the pharmacy where I got my test today (test is sold OTC here), but if I can't find any, I really wanna start doing something. I've been getting acupuncture, but that hasn't helped at all.

people are getting back pumps from test? :Puke: sucks to be you op.... are you using prov as an ai? do you have adex

I had to google Aromatase inhibitor (AI), but no, I don't think I'm using proviron as an Aromatase inhibitor (AI). I am using Aromasin though. I don't know about the adex. I'm doing the cycle recommended to me by a friend, so I can ask him about the adex.

Thanks for the heads up on creatine. As far as the potassium goes, would I be good if I just ate a couple bananas every day, or should I just go pick up a supplement? Also, I don't think they have Pedialyte here, but I'm sure they have similar products. All I'm looking for is something to replenish electrolytes?

Yes, even gatorade can do this, it's just got a lot more sugar (usually) than the kiddie stuff. Bananas are fantastic sources of potassium, so if you consume a couple a day, you likely don't need to supplement with a pill. To answer your question about an Aromatase inhibitor (AI), aromasin is the same as adex in that they both reduce your estrogen. In fact, many prefer aromasin as it is a suicidal Aromatase inhibitor (AI) and does not cause estrogen rebound when you stop taking it. It just has a much shorter half-life, meaning you need to take it everyday if not twice a day - depending on your estrogen sensitivity.

I don't know what country you live in, but I'm pretty sure amazon.com ships to you and definitely has taurine for sale.
