Bagels instead of Brown Rice?

someone once told me that if I wanted to be successful I should no longer view food as something that is to be enjoyed, but rather as something that is simply a tool for success or failure. It's hard to do, and I haven't been able to completely separate it. Probably because I'm human and love food.

YES - that is 100% correct.

Too many people are worried about the satisfaction of taste.

For me, there is very little satisfaction in "taste" when compared it to the satisfaction of physical excellence.

I WISH I could have that mentality.... but I love food too much. lol I look fine without worrying too much and running regularly and yoga. But if I was super strict on my diet, I would prob have an incredible body! Not that it's bad now, but I see improvements that diet would fix.... March 1st I get my summer diet going...

There is the point at which most folks struggle to find the resolution you expressed.

99% of people are always complaining that they aren't satisfied with their body but at the same time they are not willing to do what they know to be necessary to affect the changes they desire.

Finding the spot where you can say "I am most happy with who I am" is the answer that most never find.

It is different for each of us.

I am totally 100% completely happy doing what I do and 100% satisfied with the body I have created.

Most people would not be happy doing what I do. I would not be happy doing what they do.

That is okay. The goal should be to find our own individual set points for satisfaction.

I'm not sure honestly. I just pour water in the pot and boil it with the rice in there...or however the directions say.

This could be the problem, Brown rice should be 2 1/4 cups of water per 1 cup of rice. I use the same for the rice cooker or stove top.

If your not measuring the water, the results could be, rice too dry, hard, too mushy, undercooked.

My rice comes out best if I cook it in the slow cooker. I cook it on low, about 3-4 hours and it comes out nice and fluffy. I rarely eat rice by itself. I'll chop up my broccoli and grilled chicken and just mix it all together.

I just boil it in water...dump it in a bowl or tupperware...and eat it. Nothing added. I've tried butter...and salt and pepper...but boy...when you microwave it up and it dries out...bleh

If you are reheating the rice in the microwave try adding a little bit of water to the rice then throwing it in the microwave. I ran into the same problem before with the rice brig to dry and bleh. The water fixed it for me.
