belt question

Well again I have another Q for the big powerlifters!!

Does it make a difference where you secure the belt around your wiast for doig heavy singles, doubles, or triples??
For example are you supposed to put it right over you belly button or above??
 
I usually have mine (on the rare occassion that I actually wear it) just beneath my belly button on squats and right at my belly button when deadlifting. But like PullinBig says, it's all a personal preference. Just wear it where you are most comfortable and where you think it gives you the greatest benefit.
 
thanks guys- I will try these and see how it goes, tonight I was doing heavy sets of 3 and on warmups they felt great then I slapped the belt on and pushed out against it and when I got down to parallel it felt like the belt hit my thighs when I was at teh bottom(I dont go ass to grass but I go below parallel). It kinda got me off gaurd so I was curious if the belt placment was off, This is the first time I have used the belt in a bout a year so I guess I just have to get used to it again. I will see how it goes next week with heavy deads and let you guys know, thanks for the help as usual bros!
 
it depends not only on personnal preference but also on how your built . a short bodied guy has to wear it low to stay off the ribs for example .
