Benching Issues AC joint

Hey guys, I've been browsing for the a while, but this is my first post. I have something known as AC osteolysis, aka weightlifter's shoulder. (Had it for a year and a half now, and it's gotten worst).

As of now, the only form of pressing I can do somewhat comfortably is dumb bell decline bench press.

Which leads to my question...:
Has anyone here ever had a distal clavicle resection? Was it worth it? Were you able to get back to benching/military pressing the weight you were at before your condition started?

I'm currently on my first cycle, so i'll probably get surgery a few months down the line.

You probably have a few things that can be corrected. I'm going to guess your bench technique sucks, you have an imbalance in your pulling/pushing, and have internally rotated shoulders.

My form isn't the problem, it's due to an AC sprain I had a couple years back that developed into ac arthritis. (I'll admit I used to flat barbell bench alot, before I knew how bad it could be for you).

My back and chest have always been balanced however, and I do rotatory cuff work 2-3x a week.

For the last year all I have done is decline dumb bell. My form is very controlled, 3 second negatives 1-2 second positives, arms tucked, going parallel to an inch or two below the lower portion of my chest.

Anyway, nothing can be fixed, I've had cortisone shots, physical therapy, rotators cuff work for numerous months. Tried glucosamine/chondroitin, hydraulic acid, fish oil, supper cissus, gelatin cocktail everyday for 3 months (NSAIDs kinda help).

So my options are ....stick with decline dumbbell press and a dull ache or get the surgery....

Anyone have any opinions on the clavicle resection? Someone must had had a DCR/Mumford here?

I had a horrid ac joint imingment that made my bench and push presses very uncomfortable, and very light in weight. Years of warming up with typical type rotator movements and spending a bit of time making my tris and front delts large and powerfull made it easy to SLOWLY transition into heavy benching w/o pain. I've also shot alot og IGF1 into my front delt, but I cant say what, if any effect it had. I'm not going to deny eating painkillers either before and after workouts, but that just masks it all, just like shots. I'd say to get it fixed now b/c it's only goijg to get worse. if you're worried about atrophy during recover, take a low dose of GH and Anavar (var), they'll help with the healing too.... Best wishes bro.

Thanks for the reply bro, i'm currently doing the same things as you (naproxen instead of painkillers though lol).

Did you end up getting the ac joint surgery too?

I appreciate the reply, kinda hard making the decision if I want to cut a piece of my joint out permanently lol.
