Unless the bicipital tendon is slipping its groove, then about the only thing you can do is rest it. If it is slipping the groove, however, then you might have to have surgery to either deepen the groove or tighten up the tendon (although I'm not sure if they can heat-shrink something like that like they can the ligaments in the shoulder capsule itself).

If the tendon is just inflamed, then rest and ice are going to be the most help to you, along with an anti-inflammatory, although I don't think corticosteroids are necessarily the answer for something like that, especially if you're not a competitive athlete trying to make it through the season or something. See if the doc would be willing to have you take some NSAIDs instead of giving you another steroid shot in the area. Either way, rest is going to be the best medicine, as much as I know you don't want to hear that.

I can work out but sometimes workouts easy light pain others painful what the faaaaaa..
I do ice and rest.. cut work outs to 3 days a week full body...what is NSAIDS????..

Non-steroidal-anti-inflamatory like IB profin. Is there an Active Release Therapy place around you? I poped my Bicep tendon out, they were able to help me a lot. It took me 6 wks to get back but after each session my shoulder felt better.
