yes it was sanctioned. it was the IPA nationals in PA this weekend. he had the previous record of 975.
on a side note one of th gys fromn our gym won the open 181 class. totaled 10x body weight and won by 20lbs. 720 squat, 470 bench and a 620 dead.
heres a pic of him from the gym. hes on the left. as you can see he is lean and hard so all you guys who think PLers are fat a sloppy dont know jack. the guy on the right was a strong man competitor before he crashed his harley and passed away.
we also have another 181 nc lifter who trains here on occasion who hit a 843 squat (4th best of all time) with a 1978 total. (8th best of all time).
bro he aint even close to the top lifters in that division. there are several clean lifters putting up numbers well above his. he competes non tested but youd have to ask him if he is clean or not.
top squat for 181 is 854
top bench is 617
dead lift is 793
total is 2110.
i can tell you this badrash, after reading the way you train that if you switched up training styles you could put up a lot bigger numbers. the amount of volume you do is what is keeping you from moving heavier weights. with your recovery abilities if you switched over to a PLing routine your numbers would take off. no doubt.
funny thing on another board this was debated and it seemed some (BB'ers) were diminsihing this accomplishment beacuse he was wearing a shirt..just idiotic
hey pullin would you be willing to lend me a routine suggestion for increasing my squats and deads and bench... i've tried 5x5 but the results were minimal.. my high volumes produce wicked size but not so much strength.. so any suggestions would be appreciated you can pm me or post it here thanx

One guy on another board is bitching because he didn't move the bar that far. Well thats the whole point, its using your brain, locking the form down to reduce the work done.
I want to see him do anything with 1005, other than roll it on the ground
