I had that happen to me in the upper quad. when I pulled the needle out blood squirted everywhere and it didn't want to stop. Kind of scary the first time it happens.....huh?
Aspiration is when you pull ever so lightly back on the plunger, after you have stuck the pin in, to ensure you are not in a vein. If you do not get blood in the syringe you are good to go, if blood goes up into the syringe, it means you are sitting in a vein.....and you DO NOT want to inject into a vein, you have to pull out and inject in another spot.
I can feel when I'm hitting a vein or nerve, if your muscle suddenly gets warm when your going in then you hit a vein on the way in, oops. Learn your body and avoid those spots in the future, seriously I seem to be having bad luck lately, I'm hitting shit all the time
When I do delt injections for example I have better luck down lower closer to the brach, its one of those things you have to get used to and learn from.
