Bought my 1st bench shirt today

What did you pay. I am leaning towards single ply shirts for now. After i watched Tone Barbaccio double 705 this weekend and not be ablet to touch either. I like the feeling of a real tight single compared to a looser double. But than again that could change two weeks from now and my new shirt will have to be sold as well because it is cursed, lol

200 and that included shipping.

He said it should start to touch at about 500 and I should at least have 50 or so in the hole minimum.

As far as touching goes i've seen guys that can bench 800 touch much less. Aoot of that is technique. Another option is to pul it towards you. Roll your shoulder girdle. TOuch lower. stick your stomach out etc. Alot of guys have some real trick shirts some of which are questioneably legal.

YOu want to know about every trick in the book when it comes to shirt benching talk to Bill Crawford. Sandy and Zane are like his protege's so you could talk to them too. Keep in mind that Zane is getting about 300 pounds of carry over out of his shirt. THey helped me out a bunch up to this point.

youll most likely love the shirt then hate it
kinda like JCP eluded to..they become cursed lol

I love my Metal Viking but i also hate it..i did put an order in for a Militia Cut Karins DD

good luck with it-it hink you are better off with a Poly rather than a denim at this time

Im not a power lifter or anything but im very curious if it improves your raw bench after using one for a while?

IT kind of simulates board work. If your not a powerliftrer I would use boards and other alt methods to train your raw bench.

for raw bench use bottom ups and pause work.most people raw have a problem outa the hole so boards aint good for raw benching.

true.but most raw pressers have problems outa the hole so why work the middle and top end of the lift when most people would benifit from low end work.

youll need to get an oversized shirt most likely one that is at least 2 sizes too big..itll help train the CNS as well as your mind to help you bench bigger weights raw..youll still need to train your bench raw though

shirt and raw are 2 totally different animals..both require strength but different kinds of strength and therefore need to be trained differently

i cant really see doing high boards to increase ur raw bench i wouldnt go above a 2 brd for a raw bencher since most people will have rpoblems off the chest

I use 2, 3 and 4 boards. ONe thing that boards do for al benchers is allow you to hold more weight than noramal and move it through a limited range of motion. ALot of lifting and benching is mental. Work=ing with boards makes weight that used to seem heavy when it came off the rack feel light. We all know that if it feels comfortable or even light comming off the rack it really helps towrds getting that lift.

On a side note, one of the guys pictured in the original link, Mike Womack, went to high school with me. He was a couple years older. Just funny to see him out of no where...i was like wtf...small world.

I bought my 1st bench shirt today. It's a Titan F6, double ply, Size 50.

What do you guys think?

I bought it from Ken Anderson. http://andersonpowerlifting.com/ He was excelent to deal with.
i bought my 1st titan shirt from ken as well , i met him at the gadsden riverfest meet a few years ago .
good luck with the shirt and enjoy it but be careful and use good spotters .

Update. The god damn thing doesn't fit.

I think the chest plate would be ok but the arms have no chance of fitting. I'm going to see what ken wants to do. He said he was afraid of that.

In the mean time it's back to the inzer DD.
