BP scare today

So, I finish training a client and have a meeting. All us trainers are sitting in the office and I know that my bp is high due to the feeling in my throat/neck. Anyway, I decide to take my bp and it comes back 156/103. The owner of the gym freaks and gets my client, a nurse, off the treadmill. She takes my bp again and it's like 166/113...I'm freaking a little. The nurse tells me to go to ER and that I shouldn't drive.....yadayadayada...I text my Dr. who is also a client and tell him what's going on...he tells me to tell everyone to chill the fuck out and relax. I met him later tonight and he said that that bp was not a big deal for the short term...he continues to tell me that unless my bp is 180/100+ for years that it's not a big deal. He said that it takes years and years of borderline high bp to damage your kidneys. It's not considered an "emergency" unless it's >200/100 and you have symptoms such as headaches, vision issues....OK, I could go on and on but I'm boring myself. Be safe.

156/103 is still pretty high bro. I'm sure you can feel the extra work your hearts doing pumping the blood threw. I'd look at your water retention, diet, possible lack of cardio or anything simple which could lower your bp a bit.

This is true, however there is no reason that you should let your BP get that high and stay there for any length of time, especially if you plan on doing this long term...high BP will catch up to you. I got on lisinopril/hctz and mine is nice and low now. No sides to speak of.

Sorry but your doctor is a moron, plain and simple.

My BP was high as in 160/100 for a month or so and I have an enlarged left ventricle as a result. High BP and heavy lifting is asking for trouble.

The Dr. is a graduate of one of the top medical schools in the country. I tend to trust him more than you. On another note he did bring a large cuff today and took my bp (I used the little wrist automatic type yesterday) old school way and it was only 128/74. He said that those wrist cuffs aren't meant for people as muscular as I am and I should never go by that cuff again. He's also bringing in the large cuff once a week to monitor my bp for a few more weeks just to be safe.

My blood pressure is up in the 170's right now too, but thats taken the old fashioned way. I wonder what it would be on one of those little cuffs. Going to have to check at work tomorrow.

Blood pressure isn't too much of a concern at a relatively average dose of test prop is it? What else can I do to control blood pressure? Are there certain supplements which help? I usually do about two sessions of cardio per week anyway.
