Bulging stomach of pro body builders?

Those of you saying its food perhaps you can explain to me how when prepping for a contest at a 1000 cal (sometimes more) deficit for weeks and weeks, body devoid of excess water, they still look like they have a turtle in their stomachs ?
Its visceral fat and enlarged organs. visceral fat from insulin and hgh as well as enlarged organs form concentrated igf receptors in the gut and the effects the 2 substances i mentioned have on igf.

I suggest you do some research on visceral fat, how does it come on how to lose it. The answer to that is in your comment, low cal diet and excising.
There are so many contributing factors to this problem but when I say it is mainly food it doesn't mean it is the actual food but from eating the intestines enlarg and it takes months or year for it to retun to back to normal.

Pop it open and see what's inside!

Definitely disagree. Imo it has to do with food, but come on, you think most national level bodybuilders and the rest of the gym rat type guys don't also eat alot? The main difference is the high doses of hgh and insulin....If you believe all the top bodybuilders got big guts from eating so much, then you're really being naive. Its kind of like believing that all the top bodybuilders got that big from just cell-tech and hardwork....and not also rediculous amounts of anabolic steroids. The top bodybuilders from 1990 and before also ate alot, and we did not see this amount of distention.....hmmm wonder why? If it was all just from lots of food I think we'd be seeing more subcutaneous fat than visceral fat which is not the case, and is another indication of high gh use.

I guess I should have been a little more clear. I don't believe there are any studies proving that hgh causes your actual intestines to grow larger. However, as some one else pointed out hgh and insulin can cause increased amounts of visceral fat. So, stomach stretching from food along with increased visceral fat is more than likely the culprit. I am only speculating about this. If some one has a study showing that hgh does indeed cause your intestines to grow that large I would be surprised. Also, a lot of the top level body builders have had abdominal liposuction. This enables them to start there calorie restriction much later than some one who hasn't had liposuction. There are just so many other variables than intestines growing out of control, to put the blame on that.

I'll then ask you to explain to me how years ago guys ate just as many calories and yet they show no sign of this syndrome whatsoever? The difference is they didnt use vast amounts of hgh and insulin that BB'ers today do.

Oh also check out the effects of acromegaly. A condition where the body produces excess gh ...just like body buier take. It will also explin alot.

Are the bulging stomach problems that many pro body builders face caused by HGH use? Thanks.

NO!

this is a question asked every few weeks by people that know nothing about how the sport of bodybuilding has evolved over the last 30 years.

there is a simple reason the pro's stomachs are bigger than those of their brothren of the past... they are just bigger! the average pro is now over 250lbs on stage at roughly 5'9"... Arnold was 245 at his biggest and he is 6'2" ;)

sure gear/gh plays a role in the size of guys, but it's overall size... u can't have 22" arms, boulder shoulders, monster quads and expect your abdominal muscles to stay pint-size... not gonna happen

maybe true, but the increased size of bodybuilders today, such as those around 5'9 and 250/shredded, imo would not be possible without large amounts of growth hormone and insulin use. If arnie had been using the amounts of gh and slin pro's use today, my guess is he could have at least been 300 on stage at his biggest.

Abdominal muscles are not structured to grow outwards - they do not operate in that fashion. They are primarily comprised of smooth muscle cells. What you are saying makes no sense i my opinion. "They are just bigger" explains about nothing. The other theories make some sense. A lot of sense in fact. Like I think they are correct that its HGH and insulin kind of sense.

I believe it's from visceral fat. All of these top pros have probably had gyno surgery, and I think it's safe to say they've had liposuction as well. You can not lipo visceral fat. That's a well known fact. Some of these guys can be on a bulking diet much closer to contest date than the pros of the past. I don't know about you, but when I'm bulking I often look like I have a prego belly (with abs showing). After I cut my calories the gut goes away. It takes a little while for it to go away, but it does. Also, the older I get, the longer it seems to take.
