Caloric intake/content on PCT?

Hiya.

Aiming to begin my first cycle come July or so. It will be a recomp/lean bulk type cycle w/ test + Anavar (var) for collagen support (my training is primarily strength-based).

My question is regarding the end of said cycle and the onset of post cycle therapy (pct). How should my caloric intake change during PCT? I don't plan on lowering my caloric intake, but I'm cautious of adding too much as well. I plan on increasing my intake to match any new mass I may have added, with a majority of it coming from protein. Maybe add anywhere from 250-500 cals/day, preferably on the lower end.

I've seen some posters recommend 500-1000 extra calories during PCT, but I plan to avoid that kind of jump by actively and gradually adjusting my calories whilst on cycle.

Thoughts?

Adding MORE calories in post cycle therapy (pct) is asking for turning into a fat mess.

You see, people will obsess with keeping that scale weight post cycle --- but homeostasis will kick in and if you maintain that "on cycle" scale weight it will be due to lost muscle and added fat mass.

Your "look" will be a different appearance yet be the same scale weight.

Your best bet is to adjust your macronutrients. Perhap lower carbs to around training only, keep protein stapled high and run some healthy fats throughout the day.

This advice is spot on^ DO NOT ADD CALORIES.....adjust your Macros to be protein heavy and card light.....this will do wonders for you in the long run

on the other hand do NOT cut calories while your still shut down , thats a recipe for losing lean mass.

Right, adjust the macros and be MORE prudent about nutrition since the body is now less forgiving for slip ups.

Be mindful of how the body composition is changing and stay super strict and consistent.

Agree with the above so far. Never cycled myself, but their advice seems prudent.

Some foods to recommend
-PB for healthy fats
-almonds (low carb, good fats)
-any full fat salad dressing
-whole eggs

Just a few tips from back in low carb days. Not sure how advanced you are in your training, so forgive me if thats obvious stuff.

Thanks, guys. This is what I was hoping to hear.

It's just interesting, because I tried searching various iterations of the theme "PCT caloric intake" on google and on different forums, and actually a great number of people were recommending increasing caloric intake on post cycle therapy (pct). Some by a great surplus, too.

The only common factor seemed to be that most (MOST, not even all, lol) were recommending at the very least not to cut calories. I don't plan on doing that, though.

were all diff keep that in mind. i had to serious up my calories i got so ripped ppl asking me if i was doing a show. to the point my body turned to my hard earned muscle for fuel until i cranked up the cals i think it was in a catabolic state and overeating shifted me outof it. use the mirror and keep an eye on things thats all
