Can I Exercise After Prolotherapy?

I receive Prolotherapy treatments every 4 weeks or so for the past 2 months on my infraspinatus/rear deltoid. I last received therapy 2 days ago. Today I went to the gym and did some weight training using about 40% my normal lifting weight. My shoulder feels very sore and I feel heat and inflammation. Is this normal? And if I did go too hard/too fast is this going to negate the further healing effect and properties of the prolo treatment?

Thanks very much,

I definitely find that prolotherapy slows me down and I cannot work shoulders/bench etc. after a treatment for 4 or 5 days and I'm 42 yrs old as well. I get it for traps or supraspinitus but its actually a neck problems from hockey and football. For me Prolo is just a way to release the banjo strings of muscle in my traps.
I think the small gauge needle (large diameter) actually damages the muscle so that it releases and requires a week to heal to see the benefit.

Truth be told, I think Prolo may have injured my infraspinatus more than helped. Since I stopped treatments and have tried aleternative methods it is feeling and getting better slowly. I found that ART, and Graston Technique work very well, along with shockwave therapy is breaking up the scar tissue which is reducing inflammation, allowing more ROM and healing the tendon and muscle.
