Cant evolve my shoulders

Im having a big problem with my shoulders. They have always been slouched my whole life, and my older brother always makes fun of me. I love to play basketball and workout and when people see me they laugh, like they find it hard to believe that Im an athlete. My brother told me an exercise involving two dumbells, same weight on both sides, and just hold the dumbells up with both hands, then just lift with the shoulders up.
Its been about two weeks and i see no results. If I can have my shoulders bigger, it would improve my confidence and also my basketball game.
Please help.

well, you're doing dumbbell presses, dude.
and ya won't be seeing results in two weeks time, dude.
these things takes like months or years before it evolves..
and that would also depend on your genetics.
if ya want to grow...do some bench presses...the wrong way..
that oughta kick your shoulders up..
after that..do side laterals...
gudluck dude

if you are slouching, and your shoulders are rolling forward, I would suggest doing more back and rear delt work.
how old are you?

^ yeah, that what its called. Im 18 by the way, i quess i have to workout my upper body like everynight if i want to make my shoulders grow.

lol your shoulders aren't growing cuz your over training.... do shoulders after bench.. 2 sets of side laterals and you will notice a difference, plus do the side laterals dorian style and they will hit all three heads of your delts...

i started doing behind the neck presses in a smith machine and after about 2 weeks i could see a HUGE differnce in my delts... also try some db presses/ arnold presses or some side lateral cable raises...those should all help with shoulder growth...

Don't train upper body every day!! U'd shrink before u grew that way. Keep your calories up, eat lots of protein, don't overtrain, rest. SOunds to me like u need to start doing some rows and maybe deadlift. Some reverse flies(bent side laterals) would be good 2 for your rear delts. It'll prob. take 2months or so before u c much progress. Just keep lifting and u'll c improvements.
Remember more is NOT always better when training...DON'T OVERTRAIN!!

(1) Deadlifts

(2) Hammer Strength Shoulder Press (Possibly my fav delt exercise)

(3) Barbell Rows

(4) Behind Neck Press (Use a smith machine and bring the bar down to your ears, no lower)

here is one you can do all day long even when you are not in the gym... practice "squaring up your shoulders" hold them back... all day while you are walking around.... my father used to tell me that all the time when I was younger... at like 14 or so I wouldn't listen but by 17 I was a football player and all the other guys had bigger shoulders... I practiced doing this and lo and be hold it wasn't that my shoulders were small it was that I didn't keep them back. Now it's natural and its better for your posture and confidence as well
