Until recently GNC had the best deal on protein but has since increased their prices, before you could get the 10 lb ON bag of whey isolate for 88$ but it is now 130. SO, I am now looking for some good sites that will ship to canada cheaply or ship from within canada cheaply.

Hey, Suareezay, why has protein gone up in price so much lately?? I haven't really supplemented in the past 1.5 years because I bogged down in med school, but finally getting back into it, and it appears that prices have practically doubled! What gives??

supposedly high demand for milk in china (and other countries to a lesser degree), and drought conditions in cattle-intensive countries.

Ive noticed the price of milk has increased substantially as well. But for some reason the price of cottage cheese hasnt changed.

Dairy Prices have gone up, so now you see the prices of whey going up.

Some companies are trying to use protein derived from other sources. For example, trueprotein uses a Gemma protein which is derived from peas. Some people like it, some people hate it.

Myself, I like the Isolate Cold-Filtration that trueprotein sells. IMO best all around protein they have. Mixes very well and doesn't cause me any stomach discomfort.

if your looking for straight up name brand stuff that is already formulated, i would go with www.dpsnutrition.com... but if you want a protein that is made specifically for you go with www.trueprotein.com

You have to remember, it is better to pay a little extra and get a good protein.

Nothing is worse than buying 5lbs of protein that ends up giving you the runs, stomach discomfort, and all the other nasty sides with cheap low quality protein.

Myself, I can't use any concentrate. ON 100% whey, TP's whey concentrate, almost every big name protein is mostly whey concentrate. It rips my guts apart.

Pick up an isolate. It will cost a little more, but the quality is well worth it and it is very easy on the digestive system.
