recently ive hit kind of a slump when it comes to the chest and i kinda cant get out of it. i bench and do hammer strength along with other various chest working exercises but nothing seems to really make my chest grow, any suggestions??

possible overtraining?? or maybe your nutrition isnt up to par. If your nutrition is done well then maybe you just need to shock your muscles. Try new excercises or perhaps do excercises in superset fashion.
Keep us posted bro.

In the past month I started off by doing incline bench, then incline flyes then incline DB press and then one other chest exercise and it really brought out my chest and my weight has moved up about 15lbs on flat bench when I went back to it.

Yeah, might be overtraining too.

Try to go for exercises that provide the greatest possible stretch and ROM.

A good Pec Dec machine is very valuable. I usually don't like machines, but heavy flyes kill my shoulder, and it's very hard to keep good form with them. Squeeze your pecs hard during the contraction and your chest will be screaming the next day.

Also try dips or weighted dips, with a good range of motion, lower yourself till your upper arms are parallel to ground and don't lock out at the top, which would allow your chest to rest. Lean forward, keep your elbows out, emphasizing the chest rather than the triceps.

I am weaker than I would like to be with bench press--elbow pain, so within the past year and a half I have focused on weighted dips. The results from weighted dips have been incredible. The pump I get from weighted dips is far superior to what I ever get from bench press. Heavy weighted dips = huge pecs

thanks

thanks alot guys i took your advice and used it at the gym im tellin you im gonna be sore for a few days. thanks again for all the great advice. one question when benching what is the best technique for body posture, hand placement, thumb inside or out??
thanks

some folks do better with a very wide grip while others do better with a medium grip. i like to get my legs under me when benching so that i can use those to drive with. keep ass on the bench. grip is what ever you feel stronger with. thumbless or thumbed grip.
