Customs letter

hey all
just thought this was very weird, today in the mail was a seizure letter from customs. I thought it was weird b/c twice I had refused to sign for it, and got a "last notice" slip from the post office telling me that failure to claim by May 2nd I would forfeit it. I didn't respond, thought this whole ordeal was over, and today I recieved the seizure letter in my mailbox. I threw it out, no problem...what do you all make of this? is it normal for customs to send it even after I refused to sign for it/pick it up twice?

i think they wanna get you bad, they would just love to bag someone for this because i doubt they find much at all

I doubt that they "wanna get me bad"...if this was the case they would have certainly done a controlled delivery... Is it normal for customs to send out the letter anyways even after you refuse to sign for it?

Interesting. I had the same situation happen with a seizure from the same source as you and also refused the letter. I will probly get another one in the mail in a couple of days.

yea....certified mail, wasn't there the first time so the post office left a notice. same thing second time, ignored it...one month later this letter shows up. I threw it out, but I wanted to know wtf was up...?

sorry, I neglected to ask:

I remember somebody saying that a copy of the customs letter was send to your local police dept? can anyone verify this claim?

hey bro. thats news to me...could you explain it a little bit more? Does customs actually address a copy of the letter to your local police, with what intentions do they do this? Obviously not for arrest but for future reference or whatever?

The overwhelming majority of steroid busts are made by local police, not feds.

I received a second letter from customs also today, but all it said was that this was a final notice stating that I had until a certain date to file a petition for the pack and after that date they would take possesion of the stuff. I just threw the letter away!

yea the letter I got told me how/where I would go about to claim it and I threw it out also. I just thought it was odd that they would send it over a month after attempting to send the same letter through certified mail. I wanted to know if this was common protocol for customs or what not...

i believe that by law they have to give a certain amount of notices before they can claim it as a federal possestion.
