Damaged Scaphoid?

Recently it feels like my Scaphoid ( bit at the bottom of the thumb where it joins to your wrist fyi ) is going to pop out when lifting.
Painful as fuck. Didn't realize how tender it was until my girl handcuffed me ;)

My mates think strapping my wrists is the best thing to do.
That right? Do wrist straps actually do much when training?

Just looking for other suggestions
