dangerous?

One of my training partners is living that life...M-F he is dedicated, but come Friday night and Sat he smokes dope like it is the last one he will ever see and drinks like a fish. All that malt and bong resin have clouded his mind a wee bit...he can't figure (or just won't admit) why his gains are always less than the rest of ours.

I dunno, you need to live your life and have some enjoyment. A few beers here and there aren't gonna kill you, but getting blotto 2-3 times a week and you're just fucking around and wasting gear that I could be taking.

This about summs it up, unless you are getting on a stage, this is pretty much how i feel.
 
I'm about to do my first cycle soon. If I'm going to go out a couple times a month, what is the least likely thing to interfere with my gains and not be dangerous? I've heard that GHB doesn't interfere with athletic performance so a lot of professional athletes use that instead of drinking when they go out. Anyone else heard this, or is it just a bunch of bull?
