Beer has a pretty short half-life, so I prefer to spread my dose through the week. 8 pints eod is a good starting point. But have peanuts on hand and watch for signs of finding ugly girls attractive.
Obviously, it's not ideal to drink. But a few drinks, or even the occasional piss-up won't kill you. I'd rather be a happy skinny guy than a ripped beast who spends every second worrying about hitting their macros exactly to the gram or fraction of a calorie. If you enjoy a drink, have a drink. You CAN have the occasional drink and still build a great body. Not everyone want's to be Mr Olympia and worry about fractions of a percent of difference.
Of course, you will get more out of a cycle if you put all that stuff on hold until it's done, but Why deny yourself pleasure? Most people who workout do it to get laid more. Most will deny that, but that's the brutal truth of it. And that ain't going to happen while you are going to bed before sunset and keeping a diary of how much your balls have shrunk.
Alcohol also lowers cortisol levels, reduces stress, and reduces the risk of heart attacks and stroke (in moderation)
So go wild! Don't worry! Let the mirror tell you if you drank too much, then adjust accordingly. You won't make AS MUCH gains, if you are getting plastered every weekend, but I really doubt 4 pints on a Friday night will make much difference.
