Dead Goals!

What are reasonable goals in regards to increasing your deadlift..assuming one runs 2 10 weeks cycles per year (for size/strength not cutting) is 100 lbs possible? My sitaution ive only been doing deads for about 10 months..once i had my form down i was adding weight like crazy..obviously we all reach a certain level and things start to slow..i am still making headway but at a slower pace..i want to pull 600+ in a year or less :D my current max was 510 but i have not pulled a max in quite some time as i have been concentraing more on heavy 2-5 rep pulls..

My test/dbol cycle has given me more than 100 pounds in 5 weeks. Im now repping close to 600.

that seems a little excessive..i dont think that every cycle will yield those results..im sure we would have surpassed the 3k total by now!!! hope u can hold on to most of those gains..

100 pounds is doable if everything else is in order . box squats are great for the deadlift imo ,subbing box squats for regular squats for a few weeks at a time might help your deadlifts . also dont be afraid to skip regular deads 1 or 2 times a month and do heavy lockouts in the powerrack to accustom you to holding and locking out heavier weight , not to mention heavy deads week after week can lead to overtraining .

thanks dawg..im assuming you mean 100 lbs in a year is possible NOT during a 10 week cycle!!!I hear ya about switching from racks to the floor..thats one change im making next week,..ive been meaning to add the boxes and will definitely add that as well..thankx bro!!

add some other posterior work too. pull thrus, good mornings, reverse hyper, glut ham raises. rotate these in occassionally for assistance work.

pulling full pulls over 2 times per month will slow gains down as dawggy said. they are the most taxing movement in the gym to me.

Drugs never had a huge impact on my deads like they did alot of other lifts, what i have come to realize is that the deadlift, imo, will only get so high doing only deads. I haven't deadlifted heavy in months but with all the goodmornings pullthrougs, box squats, romanian deads, ab work, and hypers i have done i would think they may have actually gotten stronger, i have to check soon, lol.

good input...GM's are done on my squat day and abs are hit heavy twice a week..and im going to be rotating rack deads and full deads..and i know the beni's of an increasing squat helping your pulls..

Well shoot. I'm doing deads once a week. This is going to slow down my strength gains?

depends on how long you been training and how much weight you moving. if you repping 225 then every week is fine. if you repping 585 then every week is not good unless you one of the guys who got freaky genes.

By hyperextensions to you mean the actual Westside machine that makes your legs lift the weight, or the "regular" kind where you basically bend over and extend?

Sorry to hijack, just wondering..
