^ for mass and strength nothing beats the deadlift, who cares if you have the perfect model waist

dont bother with sumo stance. makes you way prone to injury. so for me, conventional all the way. i also like romanian deadlifts which is also a conventional stance. if u must do sumo, do it light weight, higher reps

what about it makes you more prone to injury? i have been doing it these last few weeks cause its better on my back which i broke about 5 years ago right above my tailbone.

i deadlift 600+ conventional.. fuck sumo stance

i deadlift conventional as well however, sumo stance will make your conventional go up even more. i just feel like a jackass standing in that position lol. i'm the only guy at my gym that does deads conventional stance.

amen to that. deads will make you strong as fuck.

Yep, I prefer sumo as well but it "suits" my body type better. Sumo relieves some stress off my back and hit my quads more, which I like. Conventional hits my lower back much more. As others have mentioned, with sumo the range of motion is less vs conventional. One thing I hate about sumo is the grip which is in th middle smooth part of the bar so the grip is very slippery. With conventional my grip is on the rough part of the bar so I get a better grip.

I do mix it up btwn the two but prefer sumo for the sake of my back.

none

dead lifting gives you a wide boxy trunk. I am looking for the thinnest waist posible to make my V shape look better.

Have fun fitting into your skinny jeans.

I do both styles, including straight leg deadlifts. Mixing it up allows me to make better overall gains and makes me better all around in terms of functional fitness.

Sumo deadlift? WTF is that? I think I seen some chicks and dudes with gloves on doing those.

If you don't deadlift with a conventional stance at least some of the time, the you are cheating yourself. If you don't deadlift at all, well then you better get some P90x.

Mostly sumo. But I change to conventional & lift till failure as I pyramid the weight downwards.

Love both! Always good to mix things up
