Depo shot?

Hi ladies,
I have been on an oral bc pill for years with the exception of trying to concieve and my two pregnancies. I have endometriosis and my periods were getting beyond heavy and painful. I would get anemic and be totally unable to get out of bed for at least a day or two each month. My dr. decided to try the depo shot to attempt to stop my periods altogether. I got my 1st shot two months ago and have had no bleeding since. This would be the time when I am supposed to have my period and there's no bleeding, but I feel pretty bloated. My diet is great and I drink a gallon+ of water a day. I was just wondering if anyone on here has had experience with depo. I would love to stay on it as I can function normally and live my life without a major bump in the road every month, but I just feel way bloated for the past few days.

I don't have any personal experience, but I've researched the Depo shot when I was considering getting it & I read many women do report feeling bloated & gaining weight.

You definitely did the right thing, living with endometriosis is debilitating for sure..

Thank you! I've also read where depocan lead to weight gain. I read the study and it said average weight gain was 1lb the first year. I think that study has some gray area though. How does anyone know it was from depo? I mean a lot can happen in a year. We all know our bodies can fluctuate 1lb daily dependimg on the circumstances. Anyway, for me I guess it's the lesser of two evils. I'd love to not be on anything. Hubby would get the big V, but that wouldn't change my monthly issues.

I've actually lost 3lbs since my 1st shot 2 months ago. I've been better able to stick with my diet and routine without the week + every month feeling like total crap. It's so hard to really concentrate on diet when all you want to do is spend the days in bed in the fetal position with a heating pad, ya know?
I was just wondering if anyone on here was on depo and if/how it affected their bodies.

I hear ya, I suffered from severe cramps when I was a teenager, I would literally have to be in bed with a heating pad all day...
I couldn't even go to school the first day..After I gave birth to my first the cramps went away.. Thank god !
My hubby is thinking about getting the big V himself, we have 3 girls, so I think we're done
