DHEA any damage to liver???

I was wondering if it would help somebody who is under 30 years of age? Does taking a high dose produce any good effects?

I'm 28 and I'm taking 150, moving up to 200 soon (I'm also 6' 4", 260pds).

I have nothing but good things to say about this product. Everybodys body is different though.

Does it need to be cycled on/off ? Do they still make 7-keto DHEA what is the difference between the two.

JayC is the expert on it around here but I think I recall him saying he cycles it for about 3 months on or so? Not sure how much time off.

:).. Ya, it just works really really well for me. I've been on it (on/off) for years. I've noticed the benefits start in the 150-200mg/day range (spread throughout the day). I do cycle the high doses like that. Usually running it for 4-5 months. The thing w/DHEA is, either you like or you don't. It works for some and nothing for others. Try it and see but give it time, it doesn't work over night... however you should see the libido increase and elevated mood usually in a week or two. Good luck.

How much time do you spend off of it between the 4-5 month cycles? I started it not too long ago, started at 50mg didn't notice anything for a while, then at around the 4th week (on 5th now) I started to really feel it working so it does take some time. I also bumped it up to 100mg this week. I figure that should be good for my height and weight.

100mg i would say no prob, but it really depends on how many supplement you are taking combined. There was a story on tv about a yr ago and a woman was taking mega dosages and with other pills. What happened is that her liver couldn't process all the pill so it went into a cell degeneration in the liver and she became very fatuiged, nausea till she fell asleep on the couch and went into a coma. Someone found her and she was rushed to the ER and by that time her liver was infected and since it could not function the infection went systemic and went into her bloodstream and shutting down her renal systems. Too late to do anything. I would try to minimize dosage. Imo, 150mg is not necessary. Not saying this will happen to you, but it really depends on how much combined with other supplements.

For me I'm 24 will it do anything or is it just a waste?

Just try it and see. It's a very mild compound... You most likely have normal (natural) DHEA levels but for some if you get it above the normal range, enhancements may result.

no negative effect at any dosage, even a gram a day. Though at a gram a day you will have OTHER possible negative side effects.

conversion to estrogenic metabolites primarily, though DHEA also exerts its own direct hormonal effects. Unsure the impact of 1000mg though higher doses are correlated with bad skin and moodyness (most likely from E conversion, though some of it may be direct action of DHEA)
