Did I really injure something or is this just a minor setback

Stickboy - not for long
I have a power cage setup in my apartment and had to do chest last night. The previous workout I had ended with squats and the bar was on the high lift offs and loaded at approximately 440 lbs. In order to do chest, I obviously had to bring the bar down and place it on the lower lift offs.

Now I unloaded the bar until it was at about 220 and the got lazy. Thinking " well I just have to guide the bar down not really curl it" I basically did the negative portion of a bicep url with much more weight than I am used to.

The moment I placed the bar on the safety bars, I felt a splitting pain running up my forearm - from my wrist to my elbow, the elbow and the wrist themselves dont hurt but the forearm feels like they've split right down the middle.

Any suggestions? Just rest or do i need to take any special care?

sounds like tendon pain , i would rest it a week or 2 and buy some neoprene elbow wraps to use for a while.
