A couple of times when opening amps the top has shattered due to my inability to use an ampoule opener properly.
Since there are a couple of vendors that sell filter needles real cheap, I play it safe and use them when drawing.
However I have read that if the injection isn't intravenous, the particles will eventually be pushed out of your system anyway without causing damage (at least that is what I've read on another forum, though I can't be sure how accurate it is).
Is there any point in using filter needles for IM?
