Have you ever tried it?
I never used it for bench until I went for a 1rm with it on and fell in love after that.
It's just for my "heavy" work even on bench.
The rest of the time it's a fashion statement.

I bet you don't chalk your shirt either :p

A bar is where I'd go new. Weights, benches, power rack etc used is fine but I have a hard time justifying money on a used bar. Look into rogue fitness bars, they're good yet affordable
 
Does anyone have any input on whether or not equipment like a snow-blower from Home Depot is of the same quality that you would buy at a dealership?

I'm doing research but figured I would ask here.

I'm not too worried about it, if it's a name brand bar they sell rebuild kits for a lot cheaper than I could buy a new one.

The rogue bars are very nice but more than I'm looking at spending.

Rippetoe has anyoutube video in how to choose a good used bar. I'd look it up so you don't get bagged buying a bent bar or something.
 
That bare steel Rogue "Burner" Bar looks amazing.

If only I were rich.

I had to stop looking at their site, my hypothetical shopping cart was climbing, quickly.
