Does Adex kill your sex drive?

SJC

I am banned!
Don't crucify me. Ive ben on TRT now for a year. I haven't had bloodwoork since march when I found out my E2 was sky high. I was feeling tired all the time but my sex drive was there. I bought some adex and started dosing at .25mg with every pin(twice a week), After a month or so I felt good and got off the Adex mostly from laziness. I started getting moody and everything irritated me. I started my Adex again twice a week .25 with every pin and have stuck to it for the last 6 weeks. My irritability is gone. I GOT BLOODS DONE FRIDAY and am awaiting the results from privatelabs.

I came accross another forum today where people said that Adex killed their sex drive. A light bulb went off because my sex drive has been down too. My morning woods have been down, I still get them but not as much as before I started. I also noticed I'm not as horny as I was 6 plus weeks ago. My wife is actaually enjoying the reprieve.

Is ther any chance its the Adex doing it or is it possible that I crashed myself at that dose. In march my E2 was at 182 I believe. My prtocol is Test cyp 100 a week pinned twice a week and .50 of Adex a week

are you sure your E2 was 182?

In short, yes it can def kill your sex drive. If your free T goes too high you will not feel good, the first thing you will notice is decreased drive. When your T to E ratio is high your free T will be really high.

Sometimes its better to titrate the dose than use adex, but in reality it changes a lot. Sometimes guys have more aromatase than they normally do. Its a never ending battle.

I personally am not a fan of the 2x a week injections. 1x a week or every 5 days usually works better for the majority of guys we talk to.

And they are not on adex with E5D shots?
What doses do they typically inject E5D's?

Yeah I'm Sure on the E2. I stared at that number as the Dr told me he didn't know why I was feeling the way I did. He said high E2 has nothing to do with it. I cant find my paperwork. I also don't know if it was the sensative essay or not.

When your estradiol is too high or too low it has many bad effects; including fatigue, ED, and lower libido. You need estradiol to be in the "sweet spot". Many guys like the 20-40pg/ml range on the Sensitive Assay. You have to find what works for you. Getting "dialed in" on TRT is the hardest part. It requires a lot of blood work and it helps to be consistent in taking your medications.

Get blood work and see where you are at.

Sensitive is not so important. Some guys get total estrogen taken and think its E2. How much T were you on? When it was 182?

When you drop your E2 too low SHBG goes down with it. Making your free T 30% over range or more sometimes. This is a common problem with taking too much adex and it can give you diabetic like symptoms.

Most of the time our guys are anywhere from 0 to .25mg after each shot or at the most .5mg a week. If you need a full mg you could probably lower your dose a little.

on a non sensitive test you want your E2 over 35 but not over 50 ish.

The total levels are not near as important as the ratio between them.

Not a fan of 2x a week? Do you find most guys do better with a high peak and lower trough by not splitting the dose? Don't they start feeling pretty lousy by the end of the week? I'm curious because I talked to my doc about splitting the dose and he was also against it.

some are @ 0.25 ish

100-120 mg is a common every 5 day schedule.

T levels around 900 ish probably.

Makes sense.
E5D of 100 mg T = 600 mg T/month. (30 days)
E3D of 60 mg T = 600 mg T/month. (30 days)

It probably wouldn't make a huge difference at that dose in regards to estradiol management. I would think leaner males might be fine with estradiol control on either of those protocols.

Isn't the range for sensitive estradiol 3-70 pg/ml for you guys in the u.s ?

IMT Todd - interesting. I started on ED then EOD injections and never felt great. Moved to E3D and feel a little better but still not great.

One issue is with that schedule... 60mg E3D, my estrogen stays too low. Maybe 100mg E5D is my money shot. Ive always been scared my E2 would jump too high, but I can't even get it to the bottom of the ideal values. Generally run between 12-18 on the Labcorp sensitive e test... Range 3-70.

That is what Labcorp says their normal range is.

I can't STAND labs like those. We have a lab like that in Canada. Normal range for Estradiol is 172 pmol/l and below.
Everyone else is 157, 150 pmol/l and below for Estradiol.
Not to mention that anything up to 5.60 is considered "normal" for TSH in that very same lab.

Most guys here have trouble staying within the "normal" range for Estradiol even on 60 mg E3D. You are one of the few exceptions where you are struggling to actually raise estradiol on your TRT protocol.
Most guys would say you're a lucky guy in the sense you can avoid a.i.s and all the negative sides of elevated estradiol.

Yes estradiol is the problem, its too low.

I'm only taking 100mg a week.

****Edit I found my bloodwork from back in feb . I was wrong I think. It doesnt say Estradiol it does say Estrogens total 182.

Free T was 13.9pg/ml 8.7-25.1 range
Test, Sreum was 577ng/dl (bloods were taking the morning of my next injections, so I'm at trough)

Hopefully I get my new results soon.

Make sure you check estradiol in the future. Not total estrogen.
