Does Cardio kill strenghth gains?

I seem to be going up in weight like a beast while not doing cardio much the past couple weeks. Is cardio a strength killer for low rep work outs?

Too much cardio, can hinder gains in strength and size. Have you ever seen a powerful looking marathoner? A little bit of cardio is still a good thing, although I eliminate most of my cardio when I am training for strength and higher muscular bodyweight. Occasionally I will hit the heavy bag for a half hour or so.

I agree with huskyguy... a little cardio is not bad for ya if your trying to bulk..but if I were going to a powerlifting meet or just trying to max my strength out.. I wouldn't do any cardio at all..

It depends on your metabolism how many years you have had your muscle mass and how hard you going at the cardio, if your BF is very low and you do HIIT cardio everyday yes you will lose muscle just for the energy to fuel your cardio, to many variables here...

Thanx for the reply

Thanx for th reply's guys. My Bf is about 13% at 29yrs. old. I think since it's the winter now I will eliminate cardio for a while and maybe find some outdoor activity once or twice a week. Thanks again.
