when is it important then to have elbows in? on the push off im assuming?

In radical cut bench shirts you want them tucked at the bottom, raw benchers dont usually tuck as hard, and not all shirt benchers tuck at all. Dennis cieri works out at my gym, he is a world record holder at 198 and legitimately lifetime drug free, he benches elbows out in the shirt and without.

ahhh ok thanks for the info...I know I train with some guys at night and their elbows are literally flared out 90 degrees from their body and I tried that and it freakin hurt my shoulders really bad so I try to tuck as much as possible that does not hurt my shoulder my left shoulder that is hurts not right though.

how much, "boost" do you think he got from the bar going past his chest like that? I mean he handled it pretty easy overall....I bet he could get it without a bounce...

it helps outta the hole no doubt. a very impressive bench but i was just using that clip as a "bounce" example.
