dumbell chest press

l was at the gym and this very big guy obviously a body builder was doing dumbell chest press on 1 of those big inflatable balls thta ppl usally do abs on i forget wat they are called..whats the benfits of doing this exercise on a ball?
 
Yeah, you have to use lots of other muscles to keep your balance.
I imagine they take some getting used to, I'd probably break my back or something, they look kinda dangerous especially if you're using heavy weights.
 
What sort of weight should you do? How much of your barbell bench weight or your dumbell bench weight? What sort of reps?
 
I saw those balls in home tv shopping and I dunno..doing DB presses on them seems like you'd snap your back in no time x.x

Whatever weight you are comfortable with.

No way you will just jump on there and be able to do as much as your flat. Make sure you can keep the weight under control and not kill yourself.

Once you do them for a while you will be able to go pretty heavy.

I go for 8-10 reps but I do do that for everything.
