Eating after evening training?

I am banned!
I am currently dieting to drop bodyfat %. I train in the evening finishing around 7pm. I want to know if others that are dieting eat carbs this late? If so what types of carbs do you eat?

Yes, Im on a similar workout schedule and Im currently carb cycling so my carb count is different most days but i always have carbs pre and post regardless of the time i workout.

If I am working out very late I usually limit my post wo carbs to a simple carb. Otherwise its a simple/complex split post.
 
yer i finish training around 8 ill only have veggies with my fish. im also trying to drop bf. heaps easier on the stomach not eating something like rice or potatoes that late at night
 
Its not ideal to eat carbs that late. However, I personally am stuck doing it as well. If your watching your intake (meaning carbs/calories what ever diet your doing) it will work, but you might have slower results then others.

I would say that late just stick to very low carbs..Meaning, it as much meat & vegi's as you want but stay away from all others.
 
I think having carbs post workout is critical unless your in keto. Yea the workout time isnt optimal but i think the need for carbs post workout surpasses the desire to stay away from carbs that late. Its what makes your muscles recover and grow, after a workout, your body has a limited amount of glycogen and glucose.

Carbs will feed the muscles
 
What do you think about waxy maize as a carb in the evening post workout instead of eating something like brown rice or sweet potato?

3J always recommends a half a bagel. I've come to love em now. Was never a big bagel guy but I look forward to it after every workout. If it's very late I would have a banana or small piece of fruit. I'm not a big fan of waxy maize especially while cutting.

When bulking it's a little better choice but try to stay with whole foods.
