I was just wondering - how long should your last meal be before going to bed? 2hrs, 4hrs, 30mins, does it matter?

Im cutting right now, and my last meal is lean steak, sometimes i end up goin to bed early so i was wondering if it was bad if i ate to close to bed or if it even matter??

any thoughts?

Protein or protein and fat before bed.

Use a protein shake and flax seed oil or cottage cheese, if you are not getting contest ready.

Even while dieting for contest I will eat in the middle of the night. Either cottage cheese if it's far enough out or a lean source of meat.

so say u went to bed at like 10pm or 11pm.... u wake up at say around 3-4am just to eat something then go back to sleep?? how the hell can anyone do that, wouldnt u have trouble getting back 2 sleep aswell lol

I get up every night between 1 and 4 to go pee and then I grab a spoonful of peanut butter and go back to bed. I leave the lights off and make it quick so im not fully waking up or anything.

pnut butter is just fat... wouldnt u need protein..?

theres 7g of protein. I also have a casein shake before bed. I'm on a pre-contest diet right now, and my trainer said if i wake up in the middle of the night hungry, PB is fine to have and i don't have to count it in my diet so that's what i've been doing. If i was bulking I would eat like 4 spoonfuls of pb or a pb and j sandwhich.

dude save urself the trouble of having to wake up in the middle of the night to feed and eat a slow digesting protein before bed..

i know i love me my sleep... casein or lean beef... simple as that
