end of trt in the ufc....

Uhh... correct me if I'm wrong, please. I was waiting on this decision for quite sometime. I'm a huge Belfort fan and let's face it, he is the center of this decision. But still, Nevada is the only one so far not allowing it. I read all their reasons... all bullshit and just shows me that some people in power are paid and have no clue. Trt, as us here know, is not close to "being on PED and having a significant edge against your opponent." Makes me sick.

That dude has been on a cycle or 2 in his day, no doubt. That sport better be careful because it's close to being as relevant as boxing...

Im just curious if fighters on trt will have to give up trt just to fight. I personally didnt see any one person dominate and i cant tell whos on what honestly. Except for anderson silva. I THINK i read that he was on trt but i may be mistaken

Yeah they will. Belfort who was on it for the last few fights just withdrew from his next fight. This comes the day after it was banned I'm Nevada. His last three fights were in Brazil.

The biggest reason they gave was alot of the guys only qualify for trt because of past steroid use. Of course they have absolutely no way to prove that it wouldn't hold up in court

Can you prove that statement? There's thousands of men on TRT that have never used before in their life. TRT is to bring a persons test level to a normal persons level at said age. NOT to give an advantage.

Fucking disgraceful. This is straight up discrimination. "We believe our athletes should compete based on their natural abilities and on an even playing field"; hmm, well I was diagnosed with secondary hypogonadism before age 20 without ever touching AAS. I see where Dana is coming from, but his view is so very close-minded. First off, anyone who thinks this ban will eliminate "cheating" in any sport is delusional. More importantly, even if guys were abusing TRT for competitive advantage, discriminating against people with legit and documented health disorders is socially immoral on a whole other level.

He may truly think he's "leveling the playing field" and improving the sport, but in reality the only notable consequences of his holier-than-thou actions will be the possible destruction of a few career fighters that have made the sacrifice to go on trt before this ban and the blacklist of all current and future athletic prospects that have health disorders requiring hormonal treatment.

Read the whole post next time before jumping down someones throat. I have the same viewpoint as you on the subject matter

Completely agree. Well said. It is pathetic, like mentioned above, that the powers that be have no clue. Its test and its associated with steroids, ped's, whatever. Its the view of the public that have no real understanding of it that fuck it up for the rest.

In all honesty, this whole "well i never touched AAS and i am on trt" is bs. It's like me saying, "i have undeveloped calve muscle, what is wrong with me going on gear and developing my calves so i can be on equal fotting to usain bolt?". Sports is genetics/dedication/health, if you lack one of those things, then simple don't compete end of.

I agree to the ban of TRT because of the strength that it carries and really not fair for those who never used Steroids or TRT.

Case in point.Clean fighters are likely to injure their backs then someone who has,was loaded for steroids,TRT and beating the age limit of ligaments at play.

Kenny Florian is one fighter who had no problem fighting at 170 to 155 then to 145 only to be told that he can't fight no more because of tingling nerves and numbness in his hands and feet.If he was loaded with steroids or TRT ..he might not even dropped to any weight and get the symptoms that made him retire.

Dan Henderson is the last guy to be exempted for TRT by fighting Rua in Brazil coming up soon.Even Brazil is banning TRT now.

Love MMA but UFC is starting to bore me. This is just another nail in the coffin for me. Have not bought a PPV in over a year and only catch it on tv every so often.
