250 2x8 with purple light bands choked around a dumbell. Not hard, very explosive, i was impressed with myself lol, as i thought this was going to be a clusterfuck. I am going to do 275 and 300 in the next two weeks, followed by two weeks of straight weight and then on to the mediums.

make sure to rotate bands with reverse band work if you dont have chains. if you dont you stabilizers will be lacking and the next time you go heavy with no bands you will be very loose up top.

you got a power rack?

yup, you reverse band squat?

whe i was using bands to squat with, yup. its very similar to chains. not quite but close enough. you can really load up on these as you get the extra umph at the bottom. great for stabilizers and top end strength.

make sure you got just a tad of tension at the top. not much maybe 5lbs or so. keeps the band from moving around.

it took a little while but i finally found a wheelchair wide enough for my big ass :laugh3:
i changed my form a little monday as well and moved the bar up higher , as my back gets thicker and my shoulders older i just cant reach back far enough to leave it where it was anymore

we fianlly got a long bar to squat with. but i always high bar squat anyway. i leave that low bar stuff for the young guys.

i told ya i would come down and wheel you big ass around. i want to meet forest anyway. i guess greenbo ala is like mayberry nc. :laugh3:

mayberry is more uptown :laugh3:
it is easier to get deep with the bar high to me , low bar kicks my ass out and up just a little . time will tell if i can lift as much tonnage with the bar high or not im gonna drop down and do DEEP pause reps for a few weeks then slowly up the weight and see how much if any the change hurts me . its amazing how moveing the bar a few inches down or up your back can make such a huge difference in your groove .

i tried low bar for a while but it really affected my depth. it changes the mechanics of the squat. it deffinatley is helpful for those guys getting folded over as it shortens the lever in that respect but for guys who normally miss at the bottom i believe high bar is better. i have never missed a squat at the top or middle, if i miss one its at rock bottom. i dont move.

missed tonights workout as mama decided we needed to go shopping instead of me going to the gym. =0l

shirt work tomorrow. no boards thank god. guess ill have an idea of where i am at for the meet tomorrow. openers next week then the meet in 2 weeks. to be honest i have felt a little off in this training cycle. i think the volumewas too juch fo rmy old ass bt i gave it a try. i will definatley make some adjustments on the next one. the guys are training for the apf jr nattys and im gonna train with them as if i was gonna go with them. see how my numbers fair from this training cycle to the next.

i like training along with someone who is gearing up for a meet , its good practice and you can just maxx the next week while everyone else recovers from saturday . boards and me dont work well together with my big bellied arch and super low reverse grip groove they just feel awkward no matter how much i do them .
i have got to come up with the dough for a dd karins custom shirt tweaked for reverse grip but its just not in the budget right now .
and im really thinking about some of her briefs in gen 2 material as well .

her single ply denim tainers hit like a dbl ply poly squat suit.

i wear a inzer dbl ply poly z lock squat suit with straps cut off for a trainer. and on max attempts i slipm on my karins dd squat suit over it. i like a poly trainer and dd squat suit combo. havent tried the canvas squat suit and prolly never will as those bastards are over 300 bucks. cant imagine it hitting much harder than the combo i have now.

do you mean the high waisted briefs/no straps ?

yes siree bob. thats what doug wears under his dd squat suit. he says no way to get depth with les than 800lb. he said he cant get depth with trainer under 405. thjose little bastards hit hard. i have a pair but they too small and i never sent them back. dont remeber the price but it was very reasonable.

heres doug's old ass modeling a pair of them.

karin hand makes all the equiment she sells. she sews it all her self with no help. you guys support them when you order gear. her suits are as good as it gets and her shirts are the best out there. she sews poly, denim and canvas suits, briefs, trainers and shirts.

i agree even if you know there is no way in hell you would ever powerlift you should still go to some meets . i guarantee after watching a meet you will be so fired up to train hard and heavy it scary .
