First Time -- Bent Needle

Ok rookie mistake -- so I did my first injection -- 250 ml Test -- didn't feel a thing but had difficultly pushing the plunger -- so I gave it all I had and when I removed the needle it was bent 20+ degrees and boy is my rear soar.

So any feedback on why that plunger was so difficult to push in and how to do this more gracefully.

Thanks

Thanks for the replies
Yes I did aspirate
The gauge was 23 and the brand was terumo
There was no air in the syringe -- I thought you were suppose to get rid of all the air before you "take the plunge"

damn, a 23? that shouldn't be a problem at all..........unless it bent before you even tried pushing the plunger. Or the gear was super-cold. lol

You are either not patient enough or your gear must be like Karo. Even though you are using a 23g pin it will still be slower than what you may expect if this is your first time. I used to use 23 g pins and it usually took about a minute to inject 2.5cc. With thinner gear it should take less.
Now I use 25g pins to shoot 2cc and it takes about 30 seconds to shoot and no bent pins or discomfort. Warm your gear before injecting and it should thin it up some to make it a smoother procedure.

Yes warm up your gear in the syringe under warm water its like honey it will get thinner and much easier. You must have bent the needle in the begining going in or something, that is why I think that it was hard to push in again unless you are using shiat brand terumo are good.

I did the same thing my first few sticks, as others have stated try warming the gear first, for me sometimes it pushes right in and other times it's slow going.

Bent right where the needle hits the syringe? Or bent elsewhere?

I once was injecting into my glute and I wasn't directly applying pressure to the plunger. While the needle was in the muscle, the plunger snapped at a 90 degree angle, causing the needle to bend at a 90 degree angel to make up the difference. It didn't look good; wish I had gotten a photo. But all was fine.

its possible that you just didn't go in steady, when you are having to do an akward shot like that.. its not impossible

whilst pulling out, you could have lifted up and not gone straight out.

I've got Teremo needles and they are pretty good quality, much better then my BD ones! I injected in the glutes once and never again, really bad angle and impossible to aspirate without moving the needle all over the place....Quads are the best for me

i shoot 25g with hardly a problem.. get into the routine of warming the gear in with hot water.... it will help a lot.

Lol
Well when I did the exact same thing as you one time I did it right away so I still had a full syringe to inject. Ya I said A few cuss words that day.
