Follow up on getting seized

So I've done some pretty extensive research since my buddy got some of his gear seized and this is what I have found:

Getting one package seized will not burn your address but use a P.O. box to avoid controlled deliveries incase you order more than the DEA would consider "For personal use" and they think you're either a dealer or lab.

When you receive a letter stating that customs has seized what ever it is you got, do not reply to it and just throw the letters away.

If you are ordering internationally never order more than a reasonable person would deem for personal use in one order.

In the United States largest multi agency bust on steroids only arrested 154 people, in operation Raw Deal. These people all had labs or were building labs.

It seems like the labs and domestic dealers are the ones who the feds are truly after, not the every day gym rat.

Question: how would a PO box combat a controlled delivery? The package still needs to be picked up at the counter. Unless you live in a small town where everyone knows everyone, you would still have to show ID to pick it up.
 
Steve- Normally a controlled delivery works by the dea/ local cops posting up outside of your home and waiting for the courier to deliver your package because they are able to track and ultimately pin point the day it will be delivered. When you open your door and sign for the package you have just given authorities probable cause to raid your home.

When you have a po box they might still try to get you picking it up the day it is to be delivered, however if you go pick it up a week or so after the package is delivered they most likely won't be there and even if they are you can still claim negligence to the contents of the package and the law enforcement officials will not have probable cause to enter your home so they would need to obtain a search warrant.

To sum it up with a controlled delivery at your residence there is hardly any yellow tape authorities have to go through, it's a cut and dry set up. When your package goes to a po box there's more hoops they have to jump through. If you follow the instructions about not ordering more than "personal use" then there is a minimal chance they will jump through those hoops to bust a joe shmoe gym rat.
 
2-5 bottles and some tabs could be considered distribution. Not likely anyone would waste their time but tabs can get you charged for each one.

i have this pita fukin thing called a job, i never am home to sign for my mail.... roids or otherwise...... :insane2:

i do like the idea of the PO BOX, not for the roids, just cause its close to work and i could get my mail on lunch break.

not to mention, the dirtballs in my neighborhood have ran over my mail box twice and i have had kids put trash in it on more than one occasion. FML.

the cops actually doing something useful in my area would be a refreshing change.

I would figure before a controlled delivery the gear would have to be tested for authenticity. Raiding a guy for vials of oil is a lawsuit, no?
 
Mike- They way it works with controlled deliveries is U.S. customs will catch your package on its way into the U.S., then open it, ensure authenticity, close the package back up, contact the state or local law enforcement agencies and sit outside your home when the package is delivered. They obviously won't know what you look like from a name on a package so if anyone at your residence signs for what they believe to be contraband then they have probable cause to investigate further by raiding your home to see what else they can find.

Kristofer- You're absolutely right about not being home when mail is dropped off but this goes for anyone at the residence who signs for the package will give authorities probable cause. Say your brother lives with you, your roommate, hell even a teenage son home from school when the package is dropped they can all sign for it and still get your place raided.

yeah i figured as much.

i knew they had to test it before they wasted the man hours on it.

i would think a person would go on a watch list and then that address would be watched a bit before they go kicking in doors.

unless the order was very large and quantified a distribution charge.


the whole drug system in this country is so hypocritical it makes me sick to my stomach every time i think about it.

Bigger stronger faster exposed congresses political bullshit pretty well. It's funny that the same agencies who testified to congress that anabolics are not drugs and should not be placed in the same category as narcotics are the ones who are put in charge of enforcing the laws.

Until steroid companies get those hot shot lawyers that Alcohol and Tobacco have on their side, they'll always be shunned. I don't get it either, it's political bullshit.

I say if something doesn't effect the mind negatively then let people take it. Of course that's once they're educated on it and are of age of course, just like with alcohol and tobacco. But what do we know we're just the average American.

So now the police are profiling you based on your size....if you can find a half decent lawyer I feel sorry for that PD.

I think the point of have a PO Box is that the police won't be waiting around for X amount of days until you show up.
 
So If I aint home and my package shows up but no one signs for it,then it goes back to the post office and you get a letter from the post office saying that you have a package waiting for there. You go and pick it up at the post office...get busted,they cant raid your house? Being that you wasnt home to sign for the package? Is this correct?
