I recommend everybody who doesn't have professional experience to aspirate...but, in the my clinic...no RN's aspirate.

I think this is the main message that was trying to be passed along with the beginning of this post, but it turned out to be a battle with docJ and I. I agree with you that if you are injecting in normal spots that the risk of hitting a substantial vessel are next to none, but not everyone on the board are professionals and should be as safe as possible when injecting anything. DocJ truce?!
The message for the day is dont do drugs!!! and aspirate and swab to be good, safe little steroid users.

agreed...bottom line is, use a sterile technique at proper injection sites, take care to repeat it the same everytime and everyone will be fine.

LOL WTF make your mind up man, R U sure your a qualified doctor?

Any doctor should know somebody whoose not a professional at giving injections should be swabbing man, damn any normal person should know that and yet you don't?

Where exactly did you study, I'm curious as to where they teach you not to take care of your patients and risk infection, damn man errybody wanna be a doctor nowadays but don't nobody wanna look up things on the net before tryna sound qualified!

Man if you didn't reply to the topic in the first place this topic wouldn't have turned into a debate, the fact is to stay SAFE AS POSSIBLE which you might want to do when using powerful chemicals like steroids you want to ASPIRATE and SWAB, its that simple so stop trying to put peoples ass on the line, you may be some fancy slick doctor who can throw a syringe into somebodies ass from half way across the room like a dart and then karate kick the plunger but most bros on here should aspirate AND swab just to be on the safe side.

Damn!! I called a truce with doc J and now everyone else is attacking him. I feel left out now! I got to agree with stonecold here and say we just drop it. Swab, aspirate and enjoy your gear is the lesson here.
