Free T confusion

Most labs I've seen will never list the ranges for free T, and this tends to raise confusion just because a couple of different ranges exist for this test.
My total T came back 947 ng/dL and my free T came back 32.3 (I'm assuming pg/mL?)

I've seen ranges that say:
* 20-29 years 9.3-26.5 picogram/mL
* 30-39 years 8.7-25.1 picogram/mL
* 40-49 years 6.8-21.5 picogram/mL
* 50-59 years 7.2-24.0 picogram/mL
* 60+ years 6.6-18.1 picogram/mL

the reference values for measuring free testosterone from Quest Diagnostics follow.
Adult Male (20-60+ years): 1.0-2.7% 50-210 pg/mL
Now WTF?? Why the variance?
and also in the past I've had a testosterone of 289 pg/mL. It'd be nice to convert pg/mL to ng/dL to just figure out what 2% would be. Anyone figured this out in the past? I wish they'd just give a range.

I'm assuming the measurement was in ng/dL for my free test then? That would mean since 2% of 1,300 is 26, I'm a bit above 2% for free testosterone?
