Freezing Novarel

My doc FINALLY prescribed HCG. I took him two articles by Dr. Chrysler. My insurance company is eventually going to cover it once all the hoops have been jumped through.

In the mean time, I bought some from a local pharmacy, Novarel. The pharmacist was instrumental in convincing my doc to prescribe it, so I wanted to support his business.

Anyway, Novarel only comes in 10,000iu vials. This is bad news. At 500ius per week, Dr. Chrysler's protocol, 10,000ius is a twenty week supply. At 1,000ius per week, the most common dosage, 10,000ius is a ten week supply. Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) only has a 30 day shelf life when mixed with bacteriostatic water.

Here's what I did. Since the clock starts ticking as soon as you pop the top, I went ahead and prefilled as many insulin syringes as I could until the 10ml vial was empty. I refrigerated a month supply (approximately 8 syringes) and froze the rest. I hope it stays potent. I really had no other choice.
