so after posting at IA"s borad on a way to avodi a sled till the summer and IA t9old me to quit making excuses(pretty much) and get a damn sled. i went out hunting today.

first stop was unsucessful they want 80.00 + tax

so I found scrap metal place and got my 1/4 inche sheet metal and a 1 inch pipe(supposed to be 2 but I have a lot of concrete weihts so I'll use those). When it was time ot pay for my scraps the guy asked me ot go get him some beer. so I got hi m his beer and he reffered me ot a local guy to weld it. THe guy said he'd have it down by sunday for me and only chage me about 20.00 so 35.00 later and I'll have me a sled :D

Overpaid...Thats all I got to say. Next time go to a junkyard or something and pick up some cheap metal crap. Welding itself is easy and takes about 5 min. Seriously dude. I made one for $7 and however much electricity the arcwelder takes to run for a minute. But since you already paid...Have fun. :)

I don't think paying 35.00 for all the material and to have it welded is a bad deal consdiering the sell for 50US + but I don;t have access to welding equipment

Don't get me wrong, you could do worse. But cheap people like me don't like spending money. I actually got that suggestion I listed above from the tightwad gazzette.

everybody dont have a welder.

dont matter if it costs 500 dollars. it will pay for itself the first time you pull. =0l

35 is a great price SG.

 I guess I need to go into the sled making business...Matter of fact...I'll be accepting orders. US only. NO APO addys. I'll also do weight wagons/pushcarts/trollies and anything else you can think over.

Weight Sled Ltd is not responsible for any deaths caused by the use of its equipment.

how much bro i need one!!! ill be your first victim

Alright, seriously now. Go to a scrapyard...Get a pieces of metal (old water heater cover flattened out)...cut a piece off a little larger than a 45lbs weight...Bend the front up...Use anything to brace the weigths (it shouldn't take much. Think about it, 45's aren't going anywhere unless you really take off.) Heck, if you just found a pipe roughly the size of the hole in the weights...You could use it to anchor them down together...No need to weld then...Just bend the back up. The pipe will hold the weights all together, the combined weight on the plates will hold them in place, and in case you are rocketman the back being bent up will be enough to stop them if they do start moving. Punch holes wherever you want and get a harness of some sort to tie it to yourself. Don't just tie a rope around your waist! Use a harness.

Its not that I don't like taking peoples money...I just know a lot of people out there don't like giving it up (myself included). Scrap metal is and should be almost free. If you know someone with a welder (heck, soldering iron might do), it takes literally 2 min to do the job. Free the scrap metal!!! :help:

Almost forgot...Weight Sled Lmt is not responsible for any death caused by its equipment.
