Damn, he goes deep. I started out that way and then reduced my range later.

im sort of up in the air..i get pissed when i dont take them deep enough..usually happens when i get to 400

but then im not sure if you really need to be that deep? it would help if i had spotters too lol

I hold the bar with my neck and my head held high, I just can't get the bar down my back much without shoulder pain and wrist problems. I suppose its time for some more severe shoulder stretching.

my shoulders flare up from time to time
ive found that doing cuff work has eliminated alot of the stress/pain

usually i do 3 sets of 10-15 before a workout and maybe some afterwards mostly before doing any bench work

I do all heavy stuff off the pins, i don't feel confortable going that low with a straight bar, that is for sure. Most clips i have seen, people dont go as low, but i rarely see that bar used.

one reason i like the suspended GM's better..no question of depth since yuo set the bar where you want/need it..

im tempted to buy a damn cambered or SS bar and drag it to the gym with me..i already bring a ton of shit in anyway lol whats one more thing :)

He knows it to. www.midwestbarbell.com They are great, the stuff is the same as NYBarbell, but i know shipping is included at midwest. I would feel iffy buying a rack from them though, i would go through mule or elitefts if i was going to buy a rack.

I didn't realize you were supposed to bend your knees that much. I always tried to keep my legs as straight as possible, and just bend at the waist. Thats probably why I can't go too heavy. Next time I do them, I'll try them this way.

there are many ways..
straight legged lke you said
arched back
wide stance
close stance
bent back where you actually round your back

bottom line is to make sure you are pushing back in order to activate the hammies/glutes

I get pissed because I can never go heavy, and my weight never increases. But my hamstrings are always smoked the next day.

When I get into the groove the weight feels like it is centered right over my knees, so I actually bend a fair amount. Thats just what feels best to me, and allows me to go heavy (not Tommy heavy...)
