Groin injury?

Question -- can a muscle strain in the groin masquerade as testicle pain?

For the past couple of weeks I've been having what I thought was pain in my left testicle, but when I palpate the testicle I can't localize the tender spot. This pain presents as a sort of non-specific throbbing dull ache, like the aftermath of getting kicked in the nuts.

I saw my GP about it yesterday morning and he couldn't find anything, so he referred me to a urologist. Having my testicles inspected by another man was no fun at all. No lumps or irregularities were found, it doesn't seem to be a torsion, and doesn't seem to be an inflammation of the testicle or the epidydimus. A urine test showed no blood, which should rule out a kidney stone.

But now I'm beginning to wonder if I don't feel the throbbing as much from my inner thigh and groin as from my scrotum. It's at its worse when I sit in certain positions, sit on a hard surface, or when I'm trying to sleep. I can be fine one minute then bend the wrong way and there's that "kicked in the nuts" feeling again. I'm beginning to suspect that I'll be wasting the urologist's time.

dont lie you mad this all up so you could get your rocks handled by men in white coats..we're on to you DB lol

all jokes aside i really cant offer you any help, sorry, other than to keep your Docs informed as they will be able to help/guide you..
heal up

1: Not on cycle.

B: Doesn't feel like a pinched nerve, more like a strained muscle or ligament. That and being kicked in the nuts.

III: Yeah, getting my nuts manhandled by someone in rubber gloves is a great way to spend a Thursday morning.

4: Gee, I figgered you powerlifters would know all about groin injuries. Is that Mudge in your avatar?

hernia?
could be one of the hip flexors
maybe try some light stretches and keep away from squats ,leg presses, sit ups etc until it calms down

It's the one that's worked on those adductor machines. I was experimenting with wider-stanced squats the day before I woke up with the ache.

a good stretch for it is to have your right leg stretched back on the ground, left leg forward (with your knee bent, and foot on the outside of the body).Try to keep your torso perpendicular to the ground.
slowly stetch through the groin region by trying to push your pelvis flat on the floor. You can push through all different angles until you hit the right spot, then swap sides

I hope that made senses for you

I had that problem once and had two small hernia down in that groin area that did cause my nuts to hurt. never had them repaired and the pain eventually went away.

Could possibly be a hernia, but I think I would definitely look into possible referred pain from an injury in the adductor group before checking into that too deeply. I can't remember which, but I think it's the adductor brevis that has an origin at or around the pubic symphysis, which could definitely cause a pain that is referred to the testicles.

What was the mechanism of injury? It could be a strain of one of the adductor muscles but it sounds likely to be a sprain of a hip ligament. It is hard to tell without more information on what movements aggravate and relieve pain as well as the history of injury.
