Gym advice and workouts??? Any good advice

Ok, what better place to ask this questions cause it's good guys here. I watch alot of videos and read. Mainly videos with the likes of Hodgetwins, Ct Fletcher, Kalimuscle, Rich Piana, and Mike Rashid. But what builds pure muscle and fast? Heavy weight low reps, light weight heavy reps, heavy weight high reps? It's so many different views and standards. Also pushups, are they any good? Some say they build mass some say only endurance. Now by working a prison with no weights I seen some guys get pretty yoked off of pushups and some not so much. Well any workout advice would be appreciated.
 
Compound movements. Dips, bench press, squat, deadlifts, military presses, bent over rows, the basics. Big motherfuckers use the basics.

Cool, I was wondering because its so many different views of do this and do that and I have to admit Kalimuscle is huge as hell
