If you haven’t heard of Leviquin do a google search. It is great antibiotic for some that has tore me up. My tendons in my legs feet and hand are literally just tearing apart. Its one of those side effect they put in very fine print.

I have done some research that HGH helps heal tendons fast.
Does it work for tendons?
Is there something better?

I hear theres quite a high number of lawsuits going on now over tendon ruptures and permanent nerve damage from Leviquin. You should look into it if you're having issues that severe.

I took Leviquin once and the side effects were the first thing that my doc and I discussed. Then the pharmacists tried to have a discussion with me about the sides again.

GH can help with tendons but it takes awhile and is expensive.

People say Eq helps but you cant really stay on that year round.

While I can say I have never been a serious weight lifter I have been in great shape.
5’10 – 165 I run 6 minute miles I would do 1,000 push ups on Sunday. Now I almost have to crawl up stairs. Unfortunately the medical community sees steroids as a negative and I believe in my case it would be a positive. It could take years for my body to build back up all of these little tended tears. Weather its HGH, deca, EQ or something else I am not sure that’s why I am here. I have got to believe some on here knows some one that has had a tendon problem and that has had some success with something anabolic in nature. Assuming money is not an issue, anyone have any solid advice

Wow I wasn't aware of these sides. I went to the doctor today for a post cycle acne problem, and he gave me Levaquin, and wrote me a script for Cipro. I really hope this shit kills the acne, but now I'm concerned about the tendons. Hopefully a 1 month course won't do any harm!

Holy crap, I did some research and here is what one study said:

The pathologic mechanisms responsible for quinolone-induced tendonopathy seem to be multifactorial. Studies have implicated ischemic, toxic, and matrix-degrading processes. Jorgensen et al14 described degenerative tendon lesions with interstitial edema and necrosis. Quinolone-induced tendon rupture more often occurs in less vascularized areas, which further supports an ischemic process.13 Premarketing studies found quinolone-induced macroscopic cartilaginous erosive lesions in weight-bearing joints of juvenile dogs, leading to the early contraindication for quinolone use during childhood, adolescence, pregnancy, and nursing.2,10 In an in vitro study, exposure of tendon tissue to ciprofloxacin showed a 60% to 68% decrease in fibroblast proliferation, a 36% to 48% decrease in collagen synthesis, a 14% to 60% decrease in proteoglycans synthesis, and a significant increase in matrix-degrading proteolytic activity after only 72 hours in culture.15 Reports of tendonopathy occurring hours after a single dose further suggest direct cytotoxicity.10,16

You need collagen support my friend and fast... Let me tell you, when you talk cartilage damage, that is the toughest to recover from. Damn bastards...oh BTW, AAS is bad for you but not what the drug companies put out

After years of digging into collagen issues, since I have them also, the best solution I have found has been AAS. You may want to try a cycle of collagen-friendly AAS, once you know how to manage a cycle.

ur doing 1000 push ups a day and ur wondering why ur tendons are failing on u??

this sounds like an overtraining issue to me.. tendinitis maybe??

3J, I think he's saying he used to be able to do that stuff.

I know how you feel, bro. The osteoarthritis in my knees is ridiculous and I have turned to AAS as a solution. I had no idea Leviquin had those kind of sides, and I've taken my fair share of antibiotics including at least a couple of rounds of Leviquin. That may at least partially explain the damage in my knees. Thanks for the heads-up.

Leviquin was a life saver for me when I had a couple bouts with pneumonia. Without it, who knows what would have happened.

My Mom is an RN and has been for 35 years. She said "Levaquin is worth it's weight in gold". Meaning that it's a great antibiotic, I personally have never taken it though.

I agree with her. I was admitted to the hospital due to pneumonia (I went to the Dr. knowing what I had, he told me I was crazy and that I had tonsillitis, gave me some Keflex, and sent me on my way) and Leviquin made all the difference for me. My right lung was completely filled with fluid and I had "the worst case of pneumonia they've seen in a while". Within 4 hours of taking 750mg's of the drug, I felt COMPLETELY cured.

Nice ! Glad to hear u got better quick. I have about 10 500MG ones in my drawer, keeping them just in case omoxicillian (spelling) isn't strong enough one day.

I actually used to keep a couple of antibiotics at the house for emergency situations (break down of civilization, etc...) and Leviquin was my heavy hitter because that's what my doc recommended as a drug that can make the difference between life and death if you really need an antibiotic. My stash has expired -- time to get it up to date again. But I was not aware of the sides, so this has been good info. It has made me aware that I shouldn't take it unless absolutely necessary.

And that's exactly what it's supposed to be used for, a doctor writing a script for Cipro or Levaquin for Acne is highly irresponsible.

I just want to say thanks for so many responding to this post.

As far as quinolne (Leviquin and Cipro) these drugs used to be one of those last line of defense drug, for thing like pneumonia. Now it is used for every thing with out the correct warnings. Trust me if you saw me be for and after you would not touch this stuff unless you really needed it. Ok this part I may be full of crap but It seems I can remember Cipro was almost impossible to get when we had those anthrax scares about ten years back. Then the production flood gates were let wide open .. Now it seems like every time I go to the Dr. they are handing out sample packs of leviquin for ear infections and acne… Ok enough of me whining action is the only thing that fixes problems so this week I am going to see an anti aging guy, just got my blood work done to see if maybe HGH or test is for me. I will post back with what he has to say.

Thanks again..
