I read through the thread. It just surprises me that it seems human nature has taken on this role of looking down upon those with less information than the individual. Everyone had to learn it sometime.
Respectfully, I am going to remove myself from this banter that could arise, as that is not why I come on these sites.
I have noticed over my time of being helped/helping others on these forums that not giving information out is more dangerous than giving it.
People acting off misinformation when a change to their chemical composition is on the table is extremely dangerous. I see no reason to discard them simply because they don't know.
I'm certain you all have come across someone who was very eager to use a drug and unwilling to listen to advice that contradicts their own idea. I feel that handing them the information, and letting it go it's course is responsible enough on the providers' part.
Now, I'd like to throw this out there:
Wellbutrin can cause anxiety in individuals with bi-polar disorder. Lamictal is a mood stabilizer for bi-polar disorder as well as an anti-seizure medication. If this is the case, shez444, you need to check in with your doctor on a possible re-evaluation of your medications.
Xanax is probably the worst way to treat any anxiety disorder. What happens is the GABA receptors in your brain grow a dependency to the drug to feel "calm". After some time using this medications the dose will need to go up, and up, and up, and you will have MORE anxiety than yo did before. I would highly recommend taking a look into an alternative that is non-addictive like BuSpar.
As for the caffeine, I stand corrected, that is true it could trigger adverse effects for the anxiety.
