sounds correct to me.

start with elbow sleeves right now
use tem for everything even squatting

ice them as well but you need to be consistent

ibuprofen-use it for 2-3 weeks then take a break from it

mineral ice works wonders, especailly when ur powerlifting , my elbows have that problem now an then , try the mineral ice

hey tman ..did yuor sore elbows eventually go away?

not entirely, but i tried everything you are doing. in fact exactly what you listed.Lol. i reduced the range of motion on arm curls, pullups etc so that i stopped extending my arm all the way down (say for bicept curls). so instead of letting my arms go all the way down to a straight position (by my side), i stop with my arms still bent somewhat. i don't know what the angle is but my palms face up towards the ceiling at the bottom of the curl then i go back up. i no longer let the arms go all the way down to the side. when i reduced the range of motion, the arms started getting significantly better. i am now able to do arms every week and they seem to be growing again. the pain i had was from the mid forearm all the way up to the elbows.

i really like the fish oil (carlsons fish oil). it seems to have helped my joints somewhat and i also seem to have an overall better disposition. i noticed positive results after a few weeks.

i basically stopped doing direct bicep work
curls literally killed my elbow..
doing what you said is fine with the limited range but i would strongly consider this..stop doing direct bi work for awhile..it should allow you to keep doing heavy back work which will hit the bis...

start with ver very light weights using a full range of motion..do not be gung ho about jumping up in weights very quickly..
do around 3 sts of 20 not to failure since teh weight it light you may be able to do this 2-3 times per week you may lose some arm strength but then again who gives a shit if you can curl 150 as long as your still pulling and doing heavy back work/squats .bench your arms will be fine

thanks bro. i think i'll try it. 69 there some good info for you.

Bench presses used to kill my elbows, the problem was my grip when I lift. I was gripping too hard and this resulted in tendonitis-tennis elbow. Once I lightened up on my grip and started using glucosamine my elbows healed and bench pressing doesn't hurt anymore.

good point. pb told me i may be holding the bar too tight on squat as well contributing to the same issue. fyi

Right now my elbow is tender as well, and i have the beginnings of tendonitis in both my forearms. I am done with all tricep work except band pushdowns, and don't do any bi work except hammer curls at high reps. My training partner has a roll on that is like that heat shit, and he then puts his elbow sleeves on. He says it works wonders, I am going to give it a try. You may want to pick up some bands and do active recovery with them, it actually works very well. I usually do sets of 25 with a light band fastened over the doorway, and hammer curls standing on one end.

ok thanks alot guys!!!

i will go to Price club and buy a big bottle of fish oil caps\msm glucosomine

-i will go to get eblow sleeves
-Is aleve ok to use ? I will take aleve before and after workouts 2 pills before 2 pills after...(that sound like a good dosage?)

I will ice the elbows at night before bed.

does anyone have a good site wehre i can get 2 elbow sleeves for a good price (better than at sports authority or models)

thanks

I went w/3 ibuprophen a day and some glucosamine/msm/chondrotin and seemed to help out immensly. NExt time if they get really bad i'll try the ice, but so far the ibuprophen and glucosamine/msm/chondrotin has been enough for me. :)

it allowed me to keep benching..
it will help alot

whats the liniment called-id like to use a rollon rather than using all the goob from the bottle uscks when you scratch ur nuts with that shit on

the 'icy-hot' sleeves work good. they come pre soaked with icy hot, (3 in a box) when they go dry keep the sleeves and re-wet with some more from the tube. i use them for my knees alot. i dig em.

I will find out what it is called and where to get it.

Elbow problems usually come from either your bicep or your tricep. Since you never mentioned where the pain was I will cover both:
Bicep: causes inside the elbow pain
http://www.coventrypainclinic.org.uk/i-cache/muscle-biceps.JPG

Tricep, Long Head: causes ouside the elbow pain
http://www.coventrypainclinic.org.uk/i-cache/muscle-tricepslonghead.JPG

Tricep, Medial Head: causes inside the elbow pain
http://www.coventrypainclinic.org.uk/i-cache/muscle-tricepsmedialhead.JPG

The X is where you should massage and the red is where the pain is felt. It can be difficult to massage this area because using your thumb or fingers of the other hand will tire them out quickly. I would explore and find tender spots with my thumb then use my knuckles to massage the area.
Tendonitis is over diagnosed pass it on!

i think absorbine jr. comes in a roll-on. either that or it has a soft spongy tip, like a bingo marker. has a funny smell to it though.

The best cream to put on for pain is Biofreeze, hands down. We use it in our physical therapy clinic and the patient love it. Many of them have gone out and bought their own bottles to use at home. We usually apply it at the end of our treatment session and the pain relief lasts for 3-4 hours and sometimes more.
