help with gym

hi! well, want some advice about this..

my old gym lacks many things and I use smith machine for squats. they don't have power racks.

now, this new gym that I tried was good..complete equips..not to mention a kick-ass power rack. The sad thing though..is that the instructors don't allow me to squat deep. They always tells me to do partial squats only and yes, they are annoying.

So, what do you guys think??

If they make u do it a certain way...couldn't u just go back to your old gym and offer to buy them a powerrack(maybe get a few guys to go in on it) if they would take that much off your monthly memebership. So u wouldn't have to pay for prob. 1yr or more. Thats what I did. The one gym I lifted at (at our local school) had kick ass stuff but the people in charge were just pricks so went to our wellness center at the hospital(pretty new) and say all they had was a bench, few dumbells(i mean a few), and a lat pull down. I talked to 2 other guys and we went in on a power rack(free shipping and all) and they took that much off our memebership fee. Won't hurt to ask. I hate being harrassed 2. KNow the feeling bro.
 
haha dont listen to them... rule#8 at my gym-do not perform squats, deadlifts, and clean and presses,because there is not enough room... i havent listened to that rule since ive been there.... mostly the rule is for safety b/c alot of high school shitheads and summer tourists have broken equipment/themselves performing these exercises... my advice to you is to perform the squats deep and when the instructors say that you can't then tell them that you would like a refund for not being able to do an exercise properly... be a dick.. most gyms won't revoke your membership b/c of law suits...
 
Yeah, people at the wellness center only told me 1 x what i couldn't do and have proceeded to do it anyways...but if the people still harassing u I know it would get really annoying...to me at least, but suppose they'd get tired of it.
 
ah..nicely said guys, thanks! There are like, 2-4 ibulky instructor roaming around the gym and I really don't like them. When I first did my squats there, I felt good bec. it is way different than smith machines. The funny thing is, this instructor came over and told me not to...and guarded me the whole time. weird really. And they're kinda one sided too. They take care guys that are huge and strong and let alone newbies. Well, I'm going there today. I'll keep ya updated
 
hahaha i love this stuff..i had someone young ask me all sorts of things their training has stalled and their bench hadnt moved in a year..they werer following some BS doing forced (really just heavily assisted reps) on everything and every exercise even lat pulls..

well i knew they wouldnt train even a modified westside so i told him about DC and even gave a ton of info..It seems the head trainer laughed at it and said it wouldnt work..dumbasses that is the last time i try to help someone out ever in that place..

My advice you do what works for you..Do not listen to some jackass trainer..people assume your a god when your a trainer be smarter than that these people dont know Dick..I am not putting all trainers down there are good ones out there but most likely they need to be sought out.

Do whatever you want train however you want as longas its within the rules of the gym..and you need to squat as low as you can go
 
another funny thing is..there are no rules in the gym..except return the plates after use..that's all! Anyway, worked out today(legs) and felt great. There was one instructor today and he asked why I punish myself by going all the way down. I said, "Full-range"
and got the idea. ^-^ Again, thank you guys for the infos. ^-^
