hi there, been on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) for bout 6 months now, feel great, still working on dialing in estrogen.. I went to donate blood today after my workout and my hematocrit was at 58. guy said that was the highest he had seen. that it could mean I was dehydrated.. I think bout gallon a day everyday.. I had hematocrit at 51 when I started testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) then when down to 48 after donated few months back, now up to 58. wondering does hematocrit fluctuate throughout the day, like maybe cause pre workout supplement and workout it went up? my blood pressure was higher than normal also but I know that fluctuates depending on factors, just wondering If I should b concerned? any experience or suggestions?

Hi aces, how old are you? Are you by chance taking a multi that has iron in it? Do you take fish oil and aspirin daily?

58 is high enough that you do need to take some action very soon

I'm sure those guiding you will get you squared away definitely try not to add to it with iron rich foods or supps though

That is good, the younger you are the less your risk factors are with those numbers. It's still serious business though.

Also try to find out what your prothrombin levels are. Giving blood does not change these levels and they can be a big risk factor for clotting also.
Anyway, I'm sure your guys will get you squared away, please keep us updated though.

Hydration is critical and I never use iron sups. Some mufti-vitamins contain zero iron. A hematocrit of 58 is a bit high. Best to keep an eye on that.

58% is high. It is something you will want to make sure you monitor and remedy if possible.

I would expect that your MD may consider pulling you off Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) to reduce the crit level.

My urologist has a cut-off point of 54%. If you hit it, he will pull you of the test.

My crit (48.4%) and other hemo numbers never really moved much and I've been on Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) for 2 years now.
