It is a good idea to set the guy up on a program and just have him check in.

I wasn't trying to be an asshole about the rate, i just wanted to show you a basic idea.
I guess you live in Beverly Hills bc where I come from an unlicensed amateur trainer helping out his neighbor doesn't charge $100/hr. I'm not saying you're being an asshole, just saying that you are out of touch with the reality of the situation. The vast majority of American citizens aren't going to strap over $3600 for a three months help in the gym. This is especially true if it is just the friendly neighbor giving mention to wanting some help. If the guy would be inconvenienced by the work he would put in, by all means charge something. But atleast make it realistic and appropriate for the situation.
