How to be able to do more pushups??

Hey guys, Im joining the army in a few months and im trying to get a perfect score on the fitness test.

Right now I can do about 35-40 pushups in a row, but Im trying to be able to do 90 in under 2 minutes. Anyone have any good techniques? Right now im doing a 2 minute session of as many as I can bang out, taking a couple of breaks on my knees. after that I do pyriamids by five ex. 5 10 15 20 25 20 15 etc...

Once a week I grab a deck of cards and flip each card over and do that value of pushups, I've only been able to get halfway through before I cant move my arms anymore lol.

Anybody have a good strategy I can try out?

You don't have the worst of ideas but I would Personally start doing resistance training with lower volume for a while you're obviously doing high volume exercises already
 
If you want to get better at pushups - practice pushups & adjust your diet.

It makes no sense doing a bunch of other exercises to get good at one specific move, so dont go doing bench press/dbell flyes, etc.
Practice pushups daily with the same routine as you would in the fitness test - as many as you can in 2 mins.

The best way to make pushups easier is to drop your bodyfat because then your pushing less weight on the move.
I went from hitting 50-60 in 2 mins to 95 by cutting from 14%-8%bf, so depending on how lean you are now - this is the best way of making the move easier.

Yup, good call, and if lets say one day you get 50 the next time you try it do 51 no matter what then 52 52 54 and so on.
